If you are considering moving to a part-time job due to family commitments or to improve your work-life balance, you may be concerned about the impact on your health benefits. The good news is that there are a number of part-time jobs that offer attractive health benefits, enabling you to reduce your hours without compromising on health cover.

Delivery Person with UPS:

Provided you work at least one hour per week, UPS offers medical and dental plans that offer basic cover together with preventive care. While most companies require employees to contribute to health plans, UPS has reached an agreement with the union making part-time workers exempt from financial contributions toward medical and dental plans.

Store Assistant with J.C. Penney:

Part-time workers employed by J.C. Penney have access to two health insurance plans. The basic plan includes discounts at selected pharmacies and accidental death cover. In addition, the premium option includes maternity benefits, prescription cover and wellness therapies.

Retail Assistant with Costco:

For part-time employees who work at least 24 hours per week, Costco has in place a Choice Plus health plan, which enables employees to choose their own medical care providers. The plan also includes dental and vision cover for part-time employees.

Barista with Starbucks:

Provided you work at least 20 hours per week, Starbucks offers medical and dental plans that include preventive care. You can also opt for a level of cover that includes non-traditional therapies, such as acupuncture. Health benefits are available to employees if they complete 160 hours of work within the first two months of employment.

Teller at Bank of America:

At Bank of America, part-time workers who are contracted for at least 20 hours per week have access to the same health benefits as full-time workers. The package includes medical, dental and vision cover.
